Hospital Housekeeper – Environmental Services Team in Metro Detroit

Overview:
Are you ready to contribute to a clean and safe hospital environment? We are actively seeking dedicated hospital housekeepers for overnight shifts in Detroit. This role is critical in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, discharge rooms, surgical areas, and other hospital spaces.
- Replenish supplies, remove trash, and ensure all designated areas are tidy and sanitized.
- Handle spot cleaning tasks for carpets and upholstery and manage immediate spill responses.
- Operate vacuum cleaners, mop floors, and dispose of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste following strict protocols.
- Adhere to a rigorous 10-step cleaning process to meet high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Proven experience in Environmental Services within healthcare facilities strongly preferred.
- Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform tasks over extended periods.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to use various devices like pagers and overhead speakers.
- Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally with assistance.
